2026 Ford Maverick Trim Levels Explained

You may be able to find any of the five 2026 Ford Maverick trim levels here at our dealership. Below, we detail the XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor trims.

2026 Ford Maverick XL

The Ford Maverick XL may be the entry-level Maverick model, but it provides incredible value and the no-nonsense ethos that many drivers want in a truck. It comes standard with a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain that makes up to an EPA-estimated 42/35/38 MPG (City/Highway/Combined)3 and allows you to access the vehicle's maximum 4,000-pound towing capacity when properly equipped. This pickup also has a 13.2-inch touchscreen and the FLEXBED storage system, which allows you to customize the cargo area to meet your needs.

The Maverick XL is a truck that doesn't mess around: It offers the muscle and utility you need to get the job done.

2026 Ford Maverick XLT

The XLT version of the 2026 Ford Maverick provides the same muscular performance as the XL variant, but with some added technologies and luxuries. The vehicle features a push-button start, for example, and can be equipped with heated seats, a great amenity to have during the winter months. It also comes standard with the 2K Trailer Hitch and can be equipped with the 4K Tow Package – and the FX4 Off-Road Package, if you want to venture further off the beaten path.

The XLT trim is a great option for drivers who don't want all the bells and whistles but do want a little more out of their pickup.

2026 Ford Maverick Lobo

Unlike the first two trim levels, the Maverick Lobo comes exclusively with a turbocharged (also known as EcoBoost) 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The Maverick Lobo is built for corner-hugging performance with enhanced suspension and brakes, a seven-speed quick-shift transmission, and an Advanced 4WD system. It also has Lobo Mode, designed specifically for closed-track driving. Add in the vehicle's unique grille, remote keyless entry, and various available amenities, and you have a very appealing truck.

The Maverick Lobo is built for drivers who want a vehicle that combines the utility of a pickup truck with raw, spirited performance potential – all while standing out from the crowd.

2026 Ford Maverick Lariat

The penultimate Maverick trim is brimming with luxury appointments and thoughtful touches. It features heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated mirrors, along with a 360-Degree Camera and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. The Maverick Lariat also has 19-inch aluminum wheels, giving it more ride height than the preceding trims. This model also comes standard with the hybrid powertrain, though it can be equipped with the EcoBoost engine, too.

The Maverick Lariat is a great option for drivers who want a powerful pickup truck that also comes with noteworthy luxury features.

2026 Ford Maverick Tremor

Like the Lobo model, the Maverick Tremor, which is the top-tier option among the Ford Maverick configurations, comes with the EcoBoost engine. It's focused on off-road adventures, featuring off-road-tuned suspension, a lockable rear differential, raised ground clearance, skid plates, and a raised-angle front bumper. The vehicle also features Advanced 4WD with a twin-clutch rear-drive unit. In a Maverick Tremor, you can conquer tough terrain in style.

Drivers who want to break new ground and ferry their loved ones to the next campsite in comfort should consider a new Maverick Tremor.

2026 Ford Maverick Engine Options

There are two Ford Maverick engines to consider. Three of the five Ford Maverick trim levels provide access to both, while the Lobo and Tremor models come exclusively with the EcoBoost option.

The hybrid powertrain found standard on the XL, XLT, and Lariat variants of the 2026 Maverick comprises a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a hybrid battery-and-motor system. Together, they produce 184 horsepower. The electric motor chips in for a boost to 236 pound-feet of torque. Models with this engine and the 4K towing package can reach the vehicle's 4,000-pound towing maximum.

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine provides more horsepower and torque than the hybrid setup, with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It provides a lower maximum gas mileage rating, however, with a top EPA-estimated Ford Maverick gas mileage rating of 23/32/26 MPG (City/Highway/Combined),3 compared to the hybrid variants' maximum EPA-estimated 42/35/38 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).3

2026 Ford Maverick Available Packages

There are a number of packages and individual add-ons to consider, beyond deciding between the five Ford Maverick trim levels. Whether you want to lease a Ford Maverick or sign up for a financing plan, you'll want to decide which packages and features are on your must-have list. Below are some of the most noteworthy:

4K Tow Package

This is perhaps the most popular package for the 2026 Maverick: The 4K Tow Package unlocks the full towing capabilities of this burly truck. It includes:

  • Trailer Brake Controller
  • Trailer Hitch (Class III) 2-inch Receiver with 4-pin and 7-pin Connector
  • Transmission Oil Cooler
  • Higher Capacity Radiator (EcoBoost engine only)
  • Upgraded Cooling Fan
  • Conventional 17-inch Spare Tire (215/70R17)

On XL and XLT models, you also have to opt for the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Package (detailed below) in order to have the 4K Tow Package installed.

Ford Co-Pilot360™ Package

This suite of safety systems is far-reaching, offering you additional peace of mind as you navigate the roads, highways, and backtrails of the United States. The Ford Co-Pilot360™ package includes:

  • Heated mirrors
  • LED box lighting

Maverick trucks with front-wheel drive can all reach the vehicle's maximum 1,500-pound payload capacity,2 as can a few select all-wheel-drive variants. Please contact us to learn more!

Yes, all-wheel drive is standard or available on every version of the new Ford Maverick.
